01

Start with the applicable specification

Request the vehicle’s tyre information and clear sidewall photographs. Record complete size, load and speed ratings, brand and model, and relevant construction markings. Keep front and rear positions distinct where the documented configuration requires it rather than assuming one size applies everywhere.

The equipment record should identify any wheel changes. A tyre that can be mounted on a rim is not automatically suitable for the car. Ask a competent provider to verify the actual wheel-and-tyre application before ordering or accepting an altered package.

02

Inspect all positions rather than one example

Ask for condition and tread findings for each tyre, along with visible damage and relevant date markings where legible. A photograph of one recent tyre cannot establish the whole set. Retain any disclosed repair history and have uncertain findings assessed appropriately.

Uneven wear needs explanation. Replacing the tyres may not address the cause if an alignment, wheel or suspension concern remains. Include that question in the inspection scope instead of treating new rubber as proof that every related issue has been resolved.

03

Separate fitment from styling preference

A buyer may prefer a larger wheel, but that changes the practical and cost discussion. Identify the proposed package and obtain appropriate confirmation of suitability. Do not rely on a visually similar modified car as evidence that the arrangement is approved for this candidate.

Ask about local replacement availability and the customer’s road use. A desirable appearance can still create an inconvenient supply requirement. Keep factory configuration and later alterations distinguishable so the receiving dealer can explain the car accurately and order the correct items later.

04

Check the tyre construction and mobility provision

Do not assume every C180 has the same puncture arrangement. Identify the fitted tyre type and supplied spare or mobility equipment, then consult the applicable instructions. A construction label alone is not a universal promise about how far or how fast a damaged tyre can be used.

If a change in tyre type is proposed, have the complete arrangement assessed, including associated equipment and support. A cheaper tyre supply quote should not silently change the accepted setup. Keep any agreed alteration in the preparation record with its verification.

05

Compare fully fitted quotations

Ask for the exact tyre product, quantity and included work. Separate supply, fitting, balancing and any other necessary service. Clarify what happens if the quoted product is unavailable before authorising an unnamed substitute.

For arithmetic only, four tyres at 110 currency units each plus 70 for agreed fitting gives 510. This is not a C180 price quote. Use current local figures for the actual specification, and keep unrelated repairs outside the tyre total so the buyer can understand the complete preparation cost.

06

Use support evidence in the purchase decision

The parts and workshop plan should identify a provider able to supply and assess the required combination. For cars needing work before release, agree the product and evidence in writing. A broad “new tyres included” promise leaves too much room for a materially different result.

Compare two candidates after bringing them to the same acceptance standard. A lower-priced car needing a complete suitable set may remain competitive, but the saving should be calculated after the work is priced. Do not use the condition of one tyre to assign a zero preparation allowance to all four.

If the customer uses parking ramps or frequently carries passengers and luggage, describe that operating context to the qualified fitment provider. Do not assume a larger wheel improves suitability merely because it is visually attractive. Where a different package is proposed, obtain confirmation for the complete application and required work. Keep the final wheel and tyre description in the offer so an approved change is not confused with the car’s original factory trim.

07

Keep the final configuration with the car

Retain photographs, relevant measurements and the completed-work invoice. If an approved substitution occurs, update the record before handover. The receiving dealer should be able to compare the delivered wheels and tyres with the package that was assessed and accepted.

In your enquiry, state original-configuration preferences, intended roads and any destination supply restriction. For multiple cars, provide separate fitment records instead of assuming identical requirements from the C180 name. The result should be an identifiable and supportable setup, not a styling description presented as a technical specification.
